Volunteer Opportunities

We need your help!

There are many ways to volunteer at Arundel! Check this page often, we add new sign up sheets every time there’s a new school-wide event needing parent volunteers.

Volunteering with us before, during or after school is a great way to see Arundel in action!

Morning Greeters

Morning greeters are those wonderful volunteers who are situated at the traffic circle by the office and the upper playground in the morning from 8:10 – 8:25 a.m. to assist children safely out of cars. They speed up the drop off process so your kids get to class on time, and you get to work on time!

Please contact Stephanie Larsen if you are able to help:

Hot Lunch Helpers

Hot lunch volunteers help pass out lunches (ordered through our hot lunch vendor) from 12:15 – 12:45 p.m. everyday except Wednesday. These important volunteers make sure our children receive their lunch in a timely manner.

Please contact Emily McLuhan if you are able to help: or sign up online.

Lunchtime Supervision Volunteers

Assist our students during lunchtime and help keep them safe while they’re on the playground. Volunteers are needed on both the Upper and Lower playgrounds. Volunteers are needed every day EXCEPT Wednesday from 11:55 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

Please contact Kim Furman if you are able to help:

Art In Action

Trained parent volunteers, called Art Docents, use classic works by great artists to enhance students’ knowledge and appreciation of the artist, as well as art history and media types and techniques. Students then create their own original masterpieces, which reinforce the concepts and techniques they discussed when viewing the artist’s work.

Please contact Susan Goetz if you are able to help:

Healthy Cities Tutoring Program

San Carlos’s Healthy Cities program trains volunteers from the community to tutor and mentor students. Volunteers work approximately ONE HOUR per week and scheduling is flexible. Coordinators make every attempt to pair you with an Arundel student. Current parents, grandparents, relatives, and high school students are all welcome to participate.

Please contact Kerri Brough if you are able to help:

School Beautification

Every year the PTA organizes at least two School Beautification Days to maintain and improve the school’s grounds.
