Math
Mathematics is a major focus of our overall curriculum. All classrooms receive ongoing math instruction. Arundel aligns with the San Carlos School District Scope and Sequence for math and the State Common Core Standards Framework.
All classrooms at Arundel follow the Math In Focus Curriculum to achieve our curriculum goals. Math in Focus uses “problem solving as the center of math learning and concepts taught with a concrete–pictorial–abstract learning progression through real-world, hands-on experiences.”
Our teachers helps students build mathematical proficiency by developing important skills such as problem solving, conceptual understanding and fluency and mathematical connections. Students are educated on the application of concepts both inside and outside the classroom and encouraged to employ rigor when working with mathematics.
